Application Information


We are now accepting applications for our year-long Teach in Bhutan Program on a rolling basis.  To be considered for the 2017 school year (Jan-Dec), applications must be received by March 31, 2016.

Before completing an application to the Teach in Bhutan Program, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

  1. You have at least three years of full-time relevant classroom teaching experience and either:
    1. A post-secondary degree in the subject you wish to teach (eg., English)
    2. A post-secondary degree in Education, or
    3. Teacher certification (provincial, state, or equivalent)
  1. English is your native (i.e., your first) language

Be sure to read through the “Teach” section of this website, paying particular attention to information on the application process, financials, contracts & compensation.

The online application will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. You will need to create a simple login and password to begin the application. The application can be saved and completed at a later date.

If you wish to apply to the Spring and Summer Reading Program, please first visit the webpage Spring and Summer Reading Programs and make sure you meet the criteria.  Please address a letter of interest to Andrea Geddes Poole: with a list of your credentials and experience and your reasons for wanting to be involved in this program. Once your letter has been acknowledged, you will be required to submit a completed application form with a copy of your CV and list of credentials, as well as a copy of your passport, which must be valid for six months after the date of the trip. The deadline to apply for the  2016 4-week Summer Reading Program is April 30, 2016.
