Carson has a B.A. in Classics and History from the University of Puget Sound. After graduation, Carson traveled to Uganda and spent most of 2008 teaching sexual reproductive health in a rural village. Upon his return, Carson worked toward and, to his pleasant surprise, was awarded a M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Boston College. In an effort to be closer to family and trees, Carson moved to Seattle, Washington where he taught English, history, and math at Dartmoor School for one year. In Bhutan, Carson taught English and math to grades 7-9 students at Samtengang Middle Secondary School (2011). Carson lives for backpacking, hiking, and the outdoors.
