Heather was born and raised in Montréal, Québec. She migrated west to the mountains and settled in a small ski town by the waterside in southern British Columbia. She has taught French for over 20 years and is also the Modern Languages Coordinator for the Kootenay Lake School District. Her husband and 19-year-old son are mountain guides and she spends her free time wandering the mountains and lakes of BC. Heather holds a Masters of Education in Second Language Teaching from the University of Calgary. She spent a part of her summer in China, training English teachers, meeting Chinese students and their families, and riding horses in Inner Mongolia. Heather hopes to explore some of Bhutan’s beautiful treks in her time off.
