Mac grew up west of a small town called Sundre in the Rocky Mountain foothills in Alberta. An avid Curler and outdoor enthusiast, Mac ended up going to the University of Alberta to Pursue a B. Ed. majoring in Mathematics. During his final two summers, Mac worked as a youth mentor with the Alberta Future Leaders program providing sports, recreation and arts programming to youth in remote First Nations and Metis Communities. According to tthe founders the program, the main goal of the youth mentors is to create ‘happy smiling faces’ on the youth they work with. This naturally leads to Mac’s placement in Bhutan at the Tsebar LSS in the Pemagatshel District of Bhutan.
