Warren was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and developed a passion for outdoor adventure and travel at a young age. His childhood consisted of summers on the lake and winters on the slopes, alternating between bikes and skis and back again. It was also as a kid that Warren began to cultivate a strong enthusiasm for the written word, reading and writing with precocious intensity.
Having been inspired as a teenager to become a high school teacher, Warren pursued his B.Ed. at McGill University in Montreal, with specializations in English, History, and Ethics & Religious Culture. It was during this time that he participated in the Global Volunteer program, travelling to Lima, Peru to work with children at the Ciudad de los Niños orphanage. This experience profoundly influenced his sense of self and helped shape his philosophy of education.
After graduation, following a summer spent back-packing through Uruguay, Argentina, and Bolivia, Warren committed himself to education and outreach in Toronto’s inner-city. Working in academic tutoring and youth development with priority students has been immensely rewarding for Warren, if only in demonstrating that he has much to learn as a teacher, and even more to learn as a person.
